A hackathon is an event in which participants have 24 hours to make a project of their choosing. We had over 40 participants which, especially for our first ever hackathon, was an incredible number. I found it a challenge to coordinate our organisation team while organising the attendees too, but it was rewarding to hear everyone’s positive comments at the end of the event.

I worked with five other students to create a steganography tool which is able to encode, send, receive, and decode messages. A range of languages were used to create the hashing algorithm, and a GUI to accompany it.
